Rob Sladen
Zulu Pods’ Chairman and CEO Rob Sladen is a shorts-wearing rocket scientist whose background includes managing million-dollar budgets and sophisticated engineering teams that manufactured high tech for the U.S. military. His aerospace experience included next-generation propulsion programs and 3D manufacturing projects that reduced more than 70 jet engine parts into one. Today, he oversees the day-to-day innovative engineering operations at Zulu Pods as a hands-off manager who trusts his employees, knowing that people are right much more than they are wrong.
But this formidable leader with 15 years’ experience in commercial, military, and power generating engines isn’t just about nuts and bolts. As a passionate and motivated father of two, Rob also supports Zulu Pods’ family-friendly workplace, which errs on the side of understanding when it comes to family obligations and pushing employees to have lives outside of work.
He and wife Daniella envisioned the blueprint for Zulu Pods during a family road trip after their kids nodded off in the back seat. They built their company on a foundation of cutting-edge high-tech and family-friendly flexibility.
Rob holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business. Although he’s no ace in the hole, Rob likes to putt around on the golf course when time allows.
